The Legend of Ankh-Helos

By Glen L. Bledsoe

Ankh-Helos (Achilles or Achilles as his story was retold later by the Greeks) was a mighty pharaoh of the early Iron Age who while crossing a shallow stream in a remote area of the lands of the Egypto-Dutch Empire was bathed in the light from a mysterious disk in the sky. Some say it was a meteor of dark matter. Others suggest it was otherworldly visitors. Whatever its source he soon discovered that the parts of his body not submersed in the water became impervious to any weapon known: wood, stone, bronze or iron.
During a battle with the Sea Peoples he lost his lower right leg. To protect his left leg he tasked the Hittites to forge him a war boot made of iron. Then commanded the magicians of Mesopotamia to conjure a throne with feet that would carry him to battle where he would swing his scepter scattering his enemies before him by the score.
