Aquarium Dreams

 By Glen L Bledsoe

As the hour grows late, and all is still,
The tanks take on life that's dark and chill.
The water fizzes with eerie sound,
As creatures inside become unbound.

Moonlight through the glass so clear,
Reveals a scene that's ever weird.
Their eyes of gold twist and stare,
As if to say, "Dreamers better beware."

Children sleep, roam in their dreams,
While in the tanks, with dripping seams.
Creatures swim and swirl with eerie grace,
In this water world, they haunt the place.

So, in the night, when we all sleep,
Fish wriggle near with webby feet.
For though they seem so calm and bright,
In children's rooms at night, they be a fearsome sight.
